Dr. Melville Wyse is a highly accomplished dental surgeon and public health expert with over four decades of experience spanning clinical practice, academia, and international health missions. A graduate of Howard University (BS ’75, DDS ’79), Dr. Wyse began his career in academia as an Instructor at Howard University College of Dentistry before transitioning to community health at the Syracuse Community Health Center.
Driven by a commitment to global health equity, Dr. Wyse spent several years serving as a Senior Government Dental Officer in Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone. Upon returning to the U.S., he rejoined Howard University as an Assistant Professor, shaping the next generation of dental professionals. In 1996, he earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University, specializing in International Health. Today, he continues to provide expert clinical care as an active dentist in Maryland, combining his deep surgical expertise with a global perspective on community wellness.
