Accessibility Statement

HopeScan Initiative, Inc. is committed to making hopescan-initiative.org accessible to everyone, including visitors with disabilities. Access to health information should not depend on how someone navigates the web.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the international standard for web accessibility and are referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA Title III compliance.

What we have done

  • Provided descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • Ensured the site is navigable by keyboard alone
  • Used color combinations with sufficient contrast for text and interactive elements
  • Structured each page with proper headings so screen readers can outline the content
  • Made forms keyboard-accessible with clear labels
  • Avoided content that flashes or auto-plays

What we are still working on

Accessibility is never finished. Current areas of focus include improving alternative text on decorative images, refining focus styles on interactive elements, and adding captions to any video content we publish.

Reporting an accessibility barrier

If you encounter a page, feature, or document on our site that is difficult to access, please let us know so we can fix it. Contact us with:

  • The URL of the page where you encountered the issue
  • The assistive technology you are using (for example, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Dragon), if applicable
  • A brief description of the problem

Email info@hopescan-initiative.org. We aim to acknowledge reports within two business days and to address confirmed issues as quickly as reasonably possible.
